The finally OOTD (outfit of the day) is inspired by an IG supporter pick, Dayna Dane. Saw the pink fur coat and first though of Camron then was like I gotta illustrate that. I'm loving her rings and short do'. Kinda inspired by Dej Loaf. I love animal print and had to throw it in somehow. She fly tho!

Day 27/366
Today's outfit is an IG support pick and inspired by Boho Rho. I love how she is constantly changing up her hair color. I wish I could do that but I'm a lazy naturalista and would end up with major breakage. I've been seeing the jacket she is wearing around and racked my brain to find out what this style is called. Finally found out its called a cape blazer. The fashion industry is so clever...Once I saw this on her page I knew I wanted to illustrate it. I went with a shorter cut for the blazer. I played around with colors for this character. At first I had the skirt as a tan color and it worked but I want the piece to stay somewhat consistent with the inspiration's color scheme. And that's also what I've done with the other illustrations for this theme. The character is fancy and cute. I'm also loving her bold pink hair color. I made her color floral like Boho Rho. Honestly I wish I had this characters shows in every imaginable color...i love flats.

I wanted to draw a male and picked Kelvin aka Notoriously Dapper on IG. I follow his page and love his style. He's a body positive advocate which makes him even more awesome! I liked the print on his shirt and based my inspiration off that...kept the yellow beanie. Peep the solo cup lol. Is that crown and coke or just coke? You decide.

So this past weekend I came across the beautiful body positive lady HauteHero and loved her bio. "Unapologetically Fat & Fly" I just loved that statement. Thus it inspired the outfit of the day illustration. Big is beautiful too! I wanted this + size beauty to have a causal outfit. Gave her some purple hair. At first I had her with a mauve lip then a pink one and it was not working. Once I went with a nude clear lip I felt like eureka!! Hope you like her too!

Again I would like to thank one of my IG supporters for suggesting Shirley Eniang for the outfit inspiration. As soon as I saw this all white outfit I was like jumpsuit. I think that idea also came from the Penny Proud illustration I did. For this fashion illustration like I said I wanted to do a jumpsuit plus incorporate the gold belt. I added some gold spikes on the shoulders. Got some open toed nude pumps on which reminds me I need to schedule a pedicure session asap. I'm really loving her mauve clutch. The checkered pattern makes it look extra fancy huh. Below is also a version with a jacket hanging on her wrist but I'm just not diggin' it.

So this week's theme is outfit of the day. I asked my IG supporters to tag some of their favorite fashion bloggers on a post I did. I plan to use some of them as inspiration. For today's pick I went with one of my faves Garner Style. I love that she is a plus size fashionista and apart of being body positive. I envy her shape. She had a lot of outfits to choose from but I'm partial to animal print and went with the cute and simple pencil skirt she was wearing. I like how my character came out. This character has light facial freckles. At first I had her with dark brown eyes but then was like naw she'd have light eye color right? I'm sure it could go either way but I do prefer her with the blue eyes and dark hair. Now that I think about it she's kinda giving me that Megan Fox vibes...

Locs and freckles BABY!! I know some of my supporters wish I'd draw more locs so here you go y'all!! She bangin' huh? Gave her a golden glow. I tried to give her a natural look and tone down the make up.

Belle! She's ultra chic here right? Well I think so with her shawl. Her book says "Taming the Beast". Her look is pretty simple and chic. I'm digging the glasses. As a kid I always thought it was weird and sad the town saw Belle as odd for wanting to read...but then again during that time women didn't right? And her distaste for Gaston always and still does amuse me. He definitely is the definition of a f--kboi. (insert deep sigh and eyeroll)

So I fell behind but I'm caught up now. Had to figure out how to make the scale pattern in Illustrator for the leggings and tentacle. I really like how she came out. The necklaces charms are a fork and potion bottle aka her voice. Also I love freckles! I may have a freckle themed week...IDK

The next 7 days are Disney Princess theme and I'm kicking it off with Cinderella. My idea is to do winter outfits on them.
I went with the blue color scheme of Cinderella's ballroom gown. The glass slipper on her sweater and carriage on her purse. Look at that rock on her finger.

This is something I've been meaning to illustrate for over a year now. Its based on an actual conversation I had with my friend and co-worker, Audrey. She literally said "I have a white girl question" while holding her Starbucks re-usable cup. It was hilarious and I was taken back. I told her one day I'd illustrate this interaction.
Well it's just BLACK GIRL MAGIC!!!
But fr fr my hair has a lot of shrinkage after I wash it. Audrey isn't the first person to ask me if I cut my hair. I mean one day I have this huge fluffy 'fro then the next I have a twa(teeny weeny afro). My shrinkage is crazy...like a good 4-6 inches. That's what happens when you have them corkscrew curls.

One of my biggest pet peeves is having my hair touched. I don't not like it at all. Even if you ask 9.9 times out of 10 I'll say NO. First its a violation of my space and second I don't want anyone ruining my hair do'. The touching of my hair mainly happens in the workplace. One time a dude in the club touched my hair and that was all I could talk about for the rest of the night.

I never know what to do with my hair after straighten it. I start to miss the volume of my curls so I usually pop in some flexirods or rollers to help give my hair some life. But for some reason this does not stop me from straighten my hair....maybe because I love seeing how long my hair has really gotten. *kanye shrug*

This year I am embarking on an art project. To draw something daily for the year of 2016. It may be digital or traditional. I'm thinking about having a them every week but I don't know yet. 2016 is a leap year so we have 366 days. I'm hoping to improve on my art and become faster. Let's get creative!
